The 6mm Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) Hot-Pressed Sputtering Target, produced by Goodfellow Corp., is a high-purity material specifically designed for sputtering applications. With a thickness of 6mm and hot-pressed production method, this target offers exceptional chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, halogens, and metals. Its superior mechanical properties include high hardness, shear strength, and thermal conductivity, making it ideal for use in gas turbine situations, diesel engine components, and as an electrical insulator. Featuring precise tolerances and a low thermal expansion coefficient, this ceramic material ensures resistance to wear, oxidation, and thermal shock.

Material Material
Silicon Nitride - Hot-pressedHot pressing of Silicon Nitride produces a material of virtually zero porosity. This hard, gray ceramic is, however, still very lightweight. Silicon Nitride shows good resistance to wear and abrasion. It shows very little oxidation at elevated temperatures and high hardness and strength above 1000C. One of its main assets is its resistance to thermal shock, due to the low thermal expansion coefficient. This material can be diamond ground to precise tolerances. It is used in gas turbine situations, as diesel engine components and as an electrical insulator.

Type Type
CeramicCeramics are non-metallic, non-organic materials. They exhibit excellent resistance to high temperatures. Although they have comparatively low densities, they are extremely hard but tend to be brittle. They show good resistance to both abrasives and chemicals.
