Additional Information
Liquid ring pumps used on vacuum sizing applications must be capable of handling significant amounts of water through the pump’s inlet. In some situations, the pump may be shut off while filled with water. Upon restart, damage may occur to the pump's seal, impeller, or shaft.Selectorr® pumps can be fitted with several valves to prevent damage due to excessive water. A one-way swing valve allows water to drain down to the pump’s centerline when shut off. When the pump is turned on, the valve is pulled shut. Also, the water inlet connection is fitted with a variable shut off valve, which allows the user to balance the right combination of water from both sources. All models feature stainless steel impellers.
Liquid Separators
Liquid separators protect the pump from liquids in the air stream. A 50 mesh stainless steel screen traps large particulates. Float ball blocks vacuum when bucket is full. Includes bottom 1/2” drain.
Mechanical Seals
Versatile mechanical seals are applicable for most liquid ring vacuum pumps. A rubber friction ring prevents the seal from sliding on the shaft, eliminating shaft fretting. The seal can be rotated in either direction, as the spring merely provides axial load. Available from our stock in 28 mm, 35 mm, 38mm, 43 mm, and 55 mm sizes. Featuring stainless steel metal components, each seal has fluorocarbon elastomers, a carbon rotating face, and a Ni-resist stationary face.

Typical service parts, such as filter and rebuild kits, are readily available from our stock. Most replacement items in Selectorr® rotary vane pumps also fit into Busch® vacuum pumps.

In-line “T” style filters are easy to install. Clear collection bucket allows for quick monitoring of material buildup. Available with polyester or paper elementsVacuum filters are offered in a variety of sizes and with several types of types of elements. Standard models include paper elements rated at 2 microns. For high heat applications, such as extruder venting, special elements rated up to 385ºF are available. Housing are all steel construction with baked enamel finish.
