The Eaton-Airflex WCBD Water Cooled Disc Brake Elements are expertly designed for heavy-duty clutch and brake applications, offering exceptional thermal load absorption and dissipation. These disc type units feature a unique friction couple optimized for continuous slip service, providing a dynamic coefficient of friction surpassing the static coefficient. With special high coefficient linings, these elements deliver 50% higher torque than standard linings and maintain a 1:1 dynamic to static torque ratio. Noteworthy features include patented piston design, rapid heat dissipation, open/closed loop coolant system compatibility, and optional corrosion protection, making them suitable for diverse applications such as drilling rigs, logging equipment, and marine mooring systems.

General Description 0
Element construction and operation is illustrated. Pressurizing the cylinder causes the piston to clamp the friction disc between the water jackets. Heat generated at the friction interface is quickly transferred to the circulating coolant.Element sizes are indicated by the number of friction discs and the disc diameter in inches. For instance, size 224WCB has two (2) friction discs 24 inches in diameter.
