Installation Flare In Installation
Prepare the sheet as shown for flare-in installation.Insert the ball stud into recessed anvil and place sheet hole over ball stud shank.Squeeze the ball stud between parallel and concentric anvil and punch. Flare the ball stud shank into the sheet countersink using light pressure. Punch flare angle should match the sheet hole countersink angle. Anvil and punch should be made from hardened steel.

Prepare the sheet as shown for swage-in installation.Insert the ball stud into recessed anvil and place sheet hole over ball stud shank.Squeeze the ball stud between parallel and concentric anvil and punch. Swage the ball stud shank using light pressure. Anvil should be made from hardened steel. Punch may be ordered using PENCOM part number TL1197.
