Applications

Resorcinol is used in industry in the manufacture of adhesives and sealant chemicals; dyes; functional fluids in closed systems; intermediates; plating agents and surface treating agents, paint additives and coating additives; and process regulators. It is also used medicinally in the pharmaceutical industry as an antiseptic and disinfectant, and is used 5 to 10% in ointments in the treatment of chronic skin diseases such as psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and sub-acute eczema.
