The Rectangular 120 VAC Electromagnet is a versatile solution for various applications, offering a pull capacity of 800 lb. With built-in internal rectification converting 120 VAC to 110 VDC, installation is simplified and costs are lowered. This electromagnet, with dimensions of 3x2x6 inches and a current of 0.34 A, provides reliable performance on clean, flat, low carbon steel at magnetic saturation. Switching can be easily achieved via relay contact, S.P.S.T. Switch, or 120 VAC PLC signal, ensuring flexibility in operation and control.

It should be noted that the majority of installations use DC magnets with rectifier-controllers. The rectifier- controller provides the means for quick and clean release. The 120 VAC Electromagnets, due to the internal rectifier, cannot facilitate an electronic release function. An AC Electromagnet that is holding a part in direct contact and is de-energized without a release pulse can have up to 20 % residual magnetism. A 500 lb. capacity AC Electromagnet may not release a 100 lb. part cleanly, or at all, without a mechanical assist.
