Self-Drilling Screws, often called TEK Screws, are specially designed to drill, tap and - when used with a bonded neoprene washer - seal, all at the same time in one driving operation. They are similar to Self-Tapping Sheet Metal Screws but have a drill-shaped point designed to cut through the substrate, eliminating the need to drill a pilot hole.
